Trees Please! was established more than 10 years ago, born of a conviction that our planet needs more trees. Trees Please! aims to give back to the earth what has been taken from it – trees and their potential to release life.
Five years ago my husband Dave and I were looking for a business that fitted certain criteria, one of the most important being that it had to give something back to the environment. We were lucky to purchase Trees Please!. Unfortunately Dave who was running the business passed away suddenly in 2006. In 2008 I left my job managing a tourism operation to concentrate on the trees; very happy to be returning to my “roots”.
My love for plants was a gift received from my mum and dad who have always been keen gardeners. After graduating from Otago University with a BSc (Hons) in Botany, I completed a Diploma in Horticultural Science at Lincoln College, I then worked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries as a Horticultural Consultant primarily in flower and novelty crops. A move to the far south required a change in focus so while I worked in the tourism industry in a diverse range of roles including sales, operations and marketing, I also completed a Diploma in Business Studies.
My passion for customer service, my genuine interest in working with clients to provide creative gift ideas and my love of plants, is what I aim to imbibe into Trees Please!
Whakato rakau kia puta te ora. Plant Trees for Life.
